Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress best known for the films Beta Saajan, Hum Aapke Hai Koun, and Beta Saajan. She was first known for her 1980s role in Tezaab, in which she co-starred with the veteran actor Anil Koopor. Then she appeared in the film Dil In which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance from a very young age. She started acting when an infant and was struggling for several years because the majority of her first films were flops. Then she found her way to success and she became one of the most prominent actresses within the Indian film business. The actress took a hiatus from her profession following her marriage before returning to the entertainment industry. She was a key character as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times for Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of them. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award awarded to civilians in India is bestowed to her. Her reputation also includes for her social activism.
